Later Life Manifesto
Today there are one billion people in the world aged over 60. By 2050 there will be two billion. By 2100, there will be three billion. As people live longer, older people are an increasingly larger proportion of the population and we can expect hundreds of millions of people living beyond the age of 100.
Most of the time, for most people, being old is a positive experience. On average, older people are the happiest and most satisfied age-group, with satisfaction peaking in the mid-70s. However, whilst most older people are happy with their current
situation, they worry about things deteriorating in the future.
